Following her meeting on Friday, with representatives from Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police, and others from student bodies to local nightclubs, Preet Kaur Gill MP has now written to pubs and bars across the constituency to ask them to take action, including training to improve women’s safety in pubs and bars.
In her letter, Preet asked pubs and bars to take preventative action to protect women on premises, such as Ask for Angela which allows individuals to approach bar staff if they feel that they are in an unsafe situation.
Preet further thanked the pubs and bars who have already incorporated such schemes into their staff training.
